LORD, Give me Wisdom.

Can you imagine how amazing it would be to hear God telling you that He would give you anything you ask Him for? Probably that would blow your mind. Suppose He said to you, “Ask me for one thing and I will give it to you.” What is the one most important thing you would ask Him for?
Some might ask for money, house, car and other material things while others may ask for healing, deliverance, success, or a complete “make over.” Maybe some may ask for super power to create things. Nothing is wrong with asking as He promised that He will supply our needs.

The Bible tells us of a man named Solomon, who God gave the opportunity to ask Him for something. One night, God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” In answering, Solomon said, “Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours.” God said to Solomon, “Since this is your hearts desire and you did not ask for wealth, riches or honour, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life, but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people, over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given to you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honour such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.” (2 Chron. 1:7-12). Solomon saw wisdom as an asset to his successful leadership and made it a priority in his request. This was the most important gift anyone would want. Without wisdom, he would not be able to efficiently and effectively govern the people who were entrusted to him. Without wisdom, he would not be able to manage the other gifts God gave him.

The book of Proverbs reveals that Wisdom is supreme so we should get it. (Prov. 4:7) It also reminds us, “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you (Prov. 4:6). Solomon became one of the wisest and richest me ever lived.

Let us ask God for wisdom to deal with every situation or challenge we face.
